Finding good Car insurance in the UK
This article is very similar to Car insurance US because both countries are slightly the same when it comes to car insurance.
Most UK insurance companies offer the same type of car insurances.
- Comprehensive Cover
- Third party, fire and theft Cover
- Third party Cover
Comprehensive Cover
As the name indicates, a comprehensive cover means that almost everything is covered.
The policy should clearly explain what is covered, but in the case of a comprehensive insurance it is fair to assume that everything is covered.
But of course there are some limitations, for example if you cause a massive accident, the insurance company will only pay up to x amount. It is up to you to ensure that the amount is correct.
Comprehensive car insurance in the UK offers a very large cover, be sure to read every section in the policy to ensure that nothing was left out.
Third party, fire and theft Cover
Third party fire and theft usually means that everything is covered except yourself and your vehicle.
With the exception of the car burning or it been stolen.
As with comprehensive you must read the fine print, what are the conditions for a stolen car to be insured? Must it be parked in a special parking?
Is any fire covered or is it only the case of
natural hazards?
Third party Cover
This is the minimum cover for most car insurance in the UK. Damages to yourself and your vehicles are not covered. Damages to others are covered.
Because this type of insurance is usually the cheapest, you need to pay particular attention to how much the insurance company will compensate the third party, (the other user). This Car Insurance in the UK is the minimum required by law.
